Convention of States Rally, Thur., April 20
Convention of States Action will have a RALLY at the Colorado State Capitol
THURSDAY APRIL 20, 2023 11:00AM
Denver, 200 E Colfax Ave, West Steps
Colorado volunteers are gathering this Thursday to shine a light on the legislators. We are rallying together to support our cause, to give volunteers the opportunity to see how state legislation works and how much it affects our daily lives. We intend to pursue legislators and educate them on the process now and in the future.
We understand that this is a multi-year cause but we are steadily increasing numbers and uniting Coloradans from across the state.
Although registration is not required to attend, of the people who have registered, 1/3 are Veterans, 51 of 65 House Districts are represented and 34 of 35 Senate Districts are represented in support of activating a Convention of States.
Convention of States Action is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are in all 50 states. We act in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, specifically to Article V which allows for the calling for a Convention in order for The People to act and create amendments to the Constitution. These Article V procedures are strict and hold a very high bar. The People must have our application passed in both the State House and Senate of 2/3 of the states, 34, in order to have a Convention. Convention of States has passed resolutions in both houses of 19 states.
At the Convention, delegates from the states would gather for the sole purpose of proposing amendments that limit the power, size and spending of the federal government and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress. All 50 states will have delegates. Any proposed amendments to the U.S. Constitution would require ratification for 3/4, 38, of the states.
