Convenient Access to Quality Medical Services Available Soon in Reunion

Commerce City, CO — The Reunion Marketplace in Commerce City is already a supermarket hub for neighbors. Beginning next year, those shopping for new tires, French fries, milk and eggs will be able to consult their family doctor, OB/GYN, or pediatrician as well.

Platte Valley Medical Center (PVMC) in Brighton announced today that it will build its first off-site medical office building at the King Soopers retail center in the Reunion Marketplace in Commerce City, off of 104th Avenue and Chambers Road. The land purchase was finalized last week and the project is scheduled for completion in October 2014.

“Close access to primary care is very, very important for our family,” says Reunion Resident Jen Johnson. “When you’re as busy as we are, it’s hard to travel 20 to 30 minutes each way for a doctor’s appointment. This expansion is exciting news and means that we will soon be able to drive five minutes for our health checkups. ”

The one-story, 11,800 square foot building, will be located directly next door to King Soopers. Its design will mirror the style and shape of Platte Valley Medical Center’s current medical office building on the hospital campus at 1600 Prairie Center Parkway in Brighton.

Eagle Ridge Family Medicine, Premier Pediatrics, and Alcott Women’s Center will each occupy the building upon completion.Premier Pediatrics and Alcott Women’s Center will relocate from their current location at Turnberry Marketplace off Highway 2 and 104thAvenue in Commerce City. In addition, there will be approximately 4,900 square feet, or 35% of the building, for lease to other similar medical businesses.Health Connect Properties, Inc. is the project manager and leasing agent for the remaining space and the architect is Studio D-H Architecture. A general contractor has not been selected.

A groundbreaking celebration will take place in the first quarter of 2014 and the project is expected to be complete by fourth quarter 2014.

“Platte Valley Medical Center is committed to improving health care access to the communities we serve,” explains PVMC President and CEO John Hicks. “This new venture expands service to northern Commerce City, a community that currently has very limited access to medical providers.”
