Concept Restaurants, Inc. Donates $15,200 to Metro Caring

Denver, CO March 28, 2018 – Concept Restaurants, Inc. a Colorado-owned restaurant group with 13 restaurants located in Colorado, is giving back to the community with a donation of $15,200 on March 26th, 2018 to Metro Caring, a Denver organization addressing the root causes of hunger.

Concept Restaurants’ relationship with Metro Caring started about 3 years ago with several of their restaurants purchasing fresh herbs grown in Metro Caring’s greenhouse, located at 1100 E 18th Avenue in the heart of Denver. Since 2016, Concept Restaurants has catered ”Cornucopia” Metro Caring’s biggest fundraising event for 300 VIPs and donated food, beverages, time and labor. Concept Restaurant’s Director of Operations, Sean Huggard expressed, “At the Cornucopia events we’ve had the opportunity to hear from people who have benefitted from the programs at Metro Caring, and it really touched us. We knew we wanted to do something more for Metro Caring and when one of our employees from Rialto Café came up with the idea for a Dining Booklet – it seemed like the perfect idea.”

The 2018 Dining Booklet was created winter 2017 and contains food and beverage coupons to use at 7 of the Concept Restaurants’ locations. It’s valued at $700, and sells for $20. The booklet not only saves patrons money when they dine, it also gives them the satisfaction knowing every penny of their $20 goes directly to Metro Caring’s mission.

For over 40 years, Metro Caring has worked to break the cycle of poverty in Denver and promote health and wellness for all who live here. Metro Caring’s mission is to nourish neighbors, provide tools to thrive and foster community. Metro Caring’s CEO, Teva Sienicki, reported, “the money raised through Dining Booklet sales will help cover the gap on meat, dairy and other high-demand items in Metro Caring’s Fresh Foods Market for 3 weeks, impacting over 1,200 people in our community.” Sienicki adds that, “at Metro Caring, we are committed to building equity in our community. We are thankful for Concept Restaurants’ investment in our mission which will help thousands of families and individuals who are struggling with food insecurity and poverty.”

Concept Restaurants, Inc. was formed in 1977 by restauranteur, Frank Day, also notable as the originator of the Rock Bottom Restaurants and Breweries, Old Chicago restaurants and the Walnut Brewery in Boulder.
