Community Health Classes Offered in February

Evergreen Healthier Living Colorado Free class on Thursdays, Feb. 2-March 9, 5-7:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Buchanan Park Recreation Center, 32003 Ellingwood Trail, Evergreen, CO 80439. This class is designed for people living with diabetes and their caregivers and teaches making healthy choices and self-management skills. It is highly participatory, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their diabetes and maintain an active fulfilling life. Firestone National Diabetes Prevention Program Free class on Tuesdays, Feb. 21, 2017-Feb. 21, 2018. The class meets for 16 weekly sessions followed by six monthly sessions from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Centura Firestone Neighborhood Health Center, 6600 Firestone Blvd., Firestone, CO 80503. If you have pre-diabetes or other risk factors for type 2 diabetes, it’s time to take charge of your health. The National Diabetes Prevention Program, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), utilizes lifestyle change intervention to reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes.
