Glendale, CO – Saturday, March 12, The Colorado Children’s Noruz Foundation (CCNF) will host their 11th Annual Noruz Event at the beautiful Infinity Park Events Center. The public and the media are invited to attend this event that celebrates Noruz, the Persian New Year.
Celebrated by over 300 million people all around the world, Noruz is the name for the spring celebrations that observe the New Year for many Persian and Central Asian communities. The festivities of Noruz reflect the renewal of the Earth that occurs with the coming of spring. Noruz is proclaimed as an official United Nations (UN) observance because it promotes peace and solidarity.
Noruz begins on March 20 on the vernal equinox and is traditionally celebrated for 13 days. The celebration and gatherings held during Noruz focus on growth, reconciliation and cooperation, contributing to cultural diversity and friendship among peoples and different communities.
CCNF expects more than 500 community members to attend. Activities will include a bazaar with crafts to purchase and create, traditional dance performances, live traditional music, storytelling and more.
