The CJRO Latin Jazz Ensemble pays homage to the power of Latin jazz with three concerts in September. Performance dates and venues are Friday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Parsons Theatre 1 E. Memorial Parkway Northglenn, CO 80233; Friday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Schoolhouse Theater, 19650 Mainstreet Parker, CO 80138 and Sunday, September 17 at 3:00 p.m. at the Aurora Fox Arts Center, 9900 E. Colfax Ave, Aurora, CO 80010.  Tickets are $21 – $29 and available at https://www.coloradojazz.org/concerts.

The Bronx Horns established themselves as one of the best Latin Jazz and Salsa bands in the 90s and introduced the genre to fans across the world.  The CJRO along with vocalist Marion Powers will present an evening of music playing fresh arrangements from this Iconic band along with music from Brazil, Cuba and more.

The Latin Jazz Ensemble is Art Bouton (sax, flute, and bandleader); Jonathan Powell (trumpet); Eric Erhardt (sax and clarinet); Pete Ellison (piano); Paul McDaniel (bass); Alejandro Castano (drums); Dean Oldencott (drums Sept. 15 only); Christian Teele (percussion) and Marion Powers on vocals.

Founded in 2012 by bandleader, Art Bouton, with a mission to perform the best music with the best musicians, the CJRO does just that and more. Exciting world-renowned guest artists and many of the finest regional musicians perform anything from big band classics to contemporary large and small ensemble jazz, and Latin jazz to soul entertaining enthusiastic concert goers across Colorado. Audiences at the Arvada Center, PACE Center in Parker, Lakewood Cultural Center, Parsons Theatre in Northglenn, City Park Jazz, and beyond have heard the CJRO perform music from the greats of jazz and soul often featuring original arrangements by CJRO composers and other contemporary artists.
