Cultural Lunch with Karen Refugee Elders
Friday, March 21, 11:30 a.m.
The Aurora Center for Active Adults (ACAA) is partnering with the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) Area Agency on Aging to improve access to senior resources for refugee elders. A grant supports these efforts. You are invited to attend a Volunteers of America (VOA) customized, ethnic lunch were you will meet the refugee elders and have a new cultural experience. Adults over 60 are not expected to make a contribution toward the cost of the lunch; for others the cost is $7.50. VOA is working with the refugee community to prepare typical lunches for the refugee elders. The March lunch will be for the Karen Elders (from the Thailand/Burma border region). Lunch reservations are required three days in advance. Contact Lisa McCroskey at 303-480-5634 or lmccroskey@drcog.org.
