City of Aurora Fifty Plus Activities – Aug. 2015

City of Aurora Center for Active Adults offer a number of programs, classes and activities for adults 50 plus, including a drop-in weight and exercise room.

Special Events

2015 Aurora Veterans Salute
Registration begins August 5th for the popular Aurora Veterans Salute. The Salute will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and includes a special tribute to WWII Veterans. The event is presented by the Aurora Center for Active Adults and Presenting Sponsor Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Presenting Media Sponsor KEZW Studio 1430. The Master of Ceremonies is Rick Crandall, KEZW Studio 1430 Station Manager and Morning Show Host. The Veterans Salute is hosted by the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Guests are encouraged to tour the Museum, enjoy Starbucks coffee and doughnuts and visit with sponsors from 9:00-11:30 a.m. The luncheon is catered by Carrabba’s Italian Grill and served by JRAFROTC cadets. The program that follows is a thoughtful and ceremonial tribute to veterans and military families. Groups of 10 or more $18 per/person, General Admission is $20 per/person.
