~ Event designed especially for children, newborn through age 5, and their caregivers, to help kick-off nationally celebrated “Children’s Book Week” ~
Denver, CO — The youngest of readers can take an adventure through the world of books at Bookworms, an early literacy festival designed especially for children ages newborn through 5. The guest of honor this year will be Eric Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar, and the day will be filled with StoryTimes, family sing-alongs, crafts and other literacy activities. Denver Public Library will also be on-site with early literacy resources for parents, book recommendations and bookmarks for all attendees.
The fair is in conjunction with the start of Children’s Book Week (May 13-19, 2013). Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running literacy initiative in the country celebrating the transformative power of children’s literature. With the same vision, Bookworms aims to enhance early childhood literacy development and inspire book-lovers ages newborn to five.
