North Metro “Tis The Season” Holiday Safety

Tis’ the Season! Do you channel a little Clark Griswold when it comes to decorating for the holidays? Lights strung up everywhere, a fresh Christmas tree with ornaments galore, and enough garland and holiday decor to make Santa’s elves jealous? Whether you go all out or keep your decorating to a minimum there are certain fire hazards associated with decorations all residents should avoid. Come learn about Holiday Safety! There will be a basket of goodies for the winning raffle ticket! HO, HO, HO!  This class is free and no registration is necessary. 

Cop Talk
Wednesday, December 18, 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.  
This gathering brings police officers and the community members they serve together over coffee to discuss issues and learn more about each other. Members of the community can ask questions, raise concerns, or just say hello and enjoy a cup of coffee with us. This class is free and no registration is necessary. 
AARP Smart Driver Course
Thursday, December 19, 1 – 5 p.m.
The AARP Smart Driver Course teaches valuable defensive driving strategies and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. You may qualify for a multi-year automobile insurance discount by completing the course (check with your auto insurance carrier for details). This course is instructed by an AARP volunteer. Fees: $15 per person for AARP members; $20 per person for non-members, payable by check or money order to AARP. Register online at
