Baby, It’s Cold Outside! When the temperature drops, older adults run a higher risk of health problems and injuries related to the weather, including hypothermia, frostbite, and falls on ice and snow. Like most things in life, it is better to be prepared. Come learn about a few precautions everyone should take during this time of year. This class is free and no registration necessary. 

ALZHEIMER’S: HOLIDAY HINTS FOR THOSE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA

Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost. However, some behaviors can present real challenge for caregivers to manage. Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. Cop Talk
Wednesday, November 20, 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.  
This gathering brings police officers and the community members they serve together over coffee to discuss issues and learn more about each other. Members of the community can ask questions, raise concerns, or just say hello and enjoy a cup of coffee with us. This class is free and no registration necessary. 
 
AARP Smart Driver Course
Thursday, November 21, 1 – 5 p.m. 
The AARP Smart Driver Course teaches valuable defensive driving strategies and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. You may qualify for a multi-year automobile insurance discount by completing the course (check with your auto insurance carrier for details). This course is instructed by an AARP volunteer. Fees: $15 per person for AARP members; $20 per person for non-members, payable by check or money order to AARP. Register online at

CONVERSATIONS ON AGING

Turn your future years into your BEST years. Join others for a monthly conversation on the topics that are important to those who are aging. This is a peer-led class and it’s goal is to provide an opportunity for older adults to speak about issues that affect them. This class is free and no registration necessary.
