Brookshire House Rehabilitation and Care Community Receives a Deficiency Free Rating
Denver, CO – Brookshire House Rehabilitation & Care Community is proud to announce that it has received a deficiency-free rating on its annual Department of Public Health Certification Survey. The survey conducted by the Colorado State Health Department is a rigorous multi-day inspection process that assesses the facilities compliance with over 150 regulatory standards. The regulations are included under various broad categories such as Quality of Care, Quality of Life, Resident Rights, and Resident Safety. Long-term Care facilities are surveyed every year by a multi-disciplinary team from the state health department.
The complete evaluation included a tour of the facility, review of residents clinical records, and interviews with residents and family members about life and care. In 2012 only 8% of over 15,000 Skilled Nursing Homes were deficiency free. In the most recent data compiled by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, (CMS), the average number of deficiencies that nursing homes in Colorado receive is 11. With increasingly stringent regulations, achieving the deficiency-free rating is exceedingly difficult.
