DENVER, CO — On Thursday, August 29th, breast cancer survivors gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel in Denver to celebrate life at the “WellHealed” Fall fashion show and luncheon. The luncheon was open to all breast cancer survivors. More than 150 survivors and guests attended the festive event that was hosted by the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen and Cancer TreatmentCenters of America® (CTCA).
The full house enjoyed an inspiring fashion show where breast cancer survivors modeled Fall’s top fashions provided by Chico’s Department Store. Denise Plante, morning host for the Murphy & Denise show on KOSI 101 was the emcee of the event.
The luncheon also featured speaker Dr.Shauna Birdsall, ND, FABNO, Director of Naturopathic Medicine with CTCA® at Western Regional Medical Center, who talked about the overall role of supplements and those that are commonly used for breast cancer patients as well as how hard working women can take better care of themselves. As a naturopathic physician, Dr.Birdsall is also a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology. Her goal is to help to debunk the myths about naturopathic care and raise awareness of the important role naturopathic medicine plays in cancer care.
