Effective Communication Skills

This two-hour workshop will teach you to listen better while letting others know you’ve heard them and give you the skills to tell anyone how their behavior affects you without being judgmental. Small group practice will help reinforce what you learn.

With its roots in Lindy Hop, the style for this dance is smooth and elastic and is danced in a slot instead of a circular pattern.  Music can range from blues, jazz and country western. Join the fun and learn this popular style of Swing Dance.

Boulder Dinner Theatre “Forever Plaid” – Day Trip

Dealing With Pain

This talk will cover the incidence of chronic pain, the causes, emotional toll, generally inadequate treatment, pain pathways and gates (and how to close them).  We’ll review different pain treatments and what we can do for ourselves, such as relaxation, breathing, diet, etc.

Putting on the Ritz: Jazz Dance for Seniors
East Senior Center
Tuesdays, April 21 to May 26, 2015 – 6 classes

Learn the fundamentals of the fun and invigorating dance style called jazz.  It will include a slow, gentle warm up and learning jazz moves like jazz slides, and kick ball change and fun and uplifting choreography.  This class can be done standing or in a chair.

Ageless Grace is a fitness and wellness program consisting of 21 Simple Tools for Lifelong Comfort and Ease. It is designed to be practiced in a chair so almost anyone of any age, ability, body type, size or physical challenge can participate and benefit.

Hyland Hills Ice Show, Westminster – Day Trip

After having lunch (on your own), we will go to the Westminster Ice Pavilion to enjoy an afternoon show by the Hyland Hills ice performers, a group made up of talented skaters of all ages.

Arvada Theatre “A Man of No Importance” – Day Trip

It is 1964 Dublin, where Oscar Wilde devotee, Alfie, has ambitions to perform Oscar Wilde’s “Salome” with his amateur theatre troupe in the local church hall – unaware of the controversy the play with create with church leaders.  This Tony Award winner combines Irish-inspired folk music with a well-written play.
