NEW! MHP Peer Counseling: Women’s Support Group. West Age Well Center, 1st and 3rd Thursdays, 2:00- 3:30 p.m. This group meets for a confidential, emotionally supportive conversation about the challenges associated with aging. Dance for Parkinson’s with 3rd Law Dance Theater. West Age Well Center, each Thursday, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

In chairs or standing, this class will explore elements of different dance styles accompanied by energizing and inspiring music. 

Shakespeare’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor” and Elizabethan Village Life. Online, Wednesdays and Fridays, September 6 – 27, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Fees: R/NR $60/$75. CU Lecturer Lori Lucas will lead a study and discussion of the comedy.

Ballroom Dancing – Cha Cha Cha. East Age Well Center, Thursdays, September 7 – 28, 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. Fees: R/NR $32/$40. Learn the lovely and versatile Latin dance the Cha-cha-cha while refining ballroom dance fundamentals of musicality, rhythm, leading and following. Individuals welcome, no partner required.

Jazz Dance Series. East Age Well Center, Fridays, September 8 – 29, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Fees: R/NR $32/$40.

Jazz dance is designed to show stylish expression with a variety of musical styles. All levels welcome.

T’ai Chi Level I – Beginning. East Age Well Center, Tuesdays, September 12 – December 12, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Fees: R/NR $117/$146. Learn and review the basics, including breath, mental focus, postural awareness and correct mechanics of each move.

Play of the Hand Bridge Class. East Age Well Center, Wednesdays, September 13 – December 15, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Fees: R/NR $55/$69.The focus of this class is on declarer’s play, learn methods of developing tricks, eliminating losers, and planning the personal play. Each lesson has a review of a bidding principle and a guideline for the defense. Some knowledge of basic bridge concepts is needed. A $10 materials fee is paid to the instructor on the first day of class. 

Experimental Techniques in Watercolor and Gouache. East Age Well Center, Thursdays, September 14 – October 19, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Fees: R/NR $50/$63 Learn a variety of experimental techniques in both watercolor and gouache, including ink techniques, mono-printing, and using sand, dyes, plastic wrap and fibers. 

Conversations about Death: An Introduction to MAID and VSED. West Age Well Center, Wednesday, September 20, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. End-of-life educators create conversation about death and dying. Join this program to learn what Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) and Voluntary Stopping of Eating and Drinking (VSED) statutes are and what they are not.
