Progressive Meditation Class.  1st & 3rd Wednesdays beginning Sept. 2, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Meditation increases focus and mindfulness through different techniques that help participants experience a calm and peaceful state.  This virtual class will begin with a 20–30 minute muscle relaxation using guided meditation, breath and imagery, and will also include time for Q&A at the end of class.  Sponsored in partnership with City of Boulder Older Adult Services and Boulder Community Health.  Instructor:  Joan DePuy, RN, BSN, Trauma Outreach/Injury Prevention Coordinator for BCH and a Certified Reiki Master Level Practitioner.  Register in advance here

Your Mobility and Google Maps.  Sept. 9, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.  Find directions, see transportation options, and search for nearby sites with the Google Maps app.  Participants will learn how to download and use Google Maps for various methods of transportation.  Bring your smartphone and your Apple ID or Google Play Store password to download the app.  Register in advance here. 

Accessing RTD Using Smartphone Apps.  Sept. 23, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.  Learn to download and use RTD’s mobile ticketing app to purchase bus and transit tickets. The RTD app works on both Apple and Android smartphones.  Bring your smartphone and your Apple ID or Google Play Store password to download the app. Attendees will receive 10 RTD Mobile Passes after the class.  Register in advance here. 

Healthy Cooking Without a Trip to the Store.  Sept. 9, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.

Learn to minimize trips to the grocery store while still enjoying meals packed with flavor and health during the pandemic.  In this virtual class, cook along from home with healthy cooking instructor Mary Collette Rogers and complete two kitchen inventory dishes ready to eat by the end of class.  Questions encouraged during class for cooking assistance.  Sponsored by Boulder Seniors Foundation.  Register in advance here

Healthy Aging and Sleep.  Thurs. Sept. 17, 10 – 11 a.m.

This virtual class will review the biology and science of sleep, how it changes with age, and how to get the best rest possible.  

Presenter:  Dr. Guzik is a Doctor of Chiropractic. He has worked in clinical research at the Division of Sleep Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School.  Register in advance here

Chautauquan Series:  Amelia Earhart.  Sept. 24, 2 – 3 p.m.  Earhart (1897-1937) pushed through social barriers as a noted pilot and served as a role model with courage and determination.  Step back in time to relive an exciting, airborne period in American history through this living history performance followed by participant questions answered by Amelia in-character.  Elsa Wolff has been a storyteller, singer, and speaker for over 18 years.  Register in advance here
