Technology Coaching – January. Technology coaches assist older adult city residents with technology needs. Customers must be 60 + and residents of the City of Boulder. For January, register online or call Older Adult Services at 303-440-3148
Facilitated Dialogue: Presence and Well-Being. West Age Well Center, 1st Thursdays, January 5 – March 2, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Join this monthly dialogue group with the intention of being open, present, willing to share and listen to one another.
T’ai Chi Level 1: Beginning. East Age Well Center, Tuesdays, January 3 – March 21, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Fees: R/NR $108/$135. Learn and review the basics, including breath, mental focus, postural awareness and correct mechanics of each move.
Building Strength at Home: Progressive Movements for Daily Life. West Age Well Center, Monday, January 9, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. This workshop assists participants to identify weaknesses in standing, posture, alignment of movement and to design a personal progression towards building the strength to correct it.
Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice”. Online, Wednesdays and Fridays, January 11 – February 8 (No class Feb. 3, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Fees: Per household R/NR $50/$63. Join Lori Lucas to examine the aspects of this play that have kept audiences fascinated for over four hundred years.
How to be More Vibrant: Tips on Nutrition, Fitness and Sleep. Online, Thursday, January 12, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Join Dr. Constantini to review the latest science-based information in each of the three pillars of wellness.
SPARK and Studio Arts Boulder Pottery Class. West Age Well Center,2nd Tuesdays, January 10 – March 14, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Participants learn about the fundamentals of pottery to make functional and whimsical pieces. SPARK programs are designed for individuals with neurodegenerative diseases, including dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, who are accompanied by their caregiver or partner.
Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia. West Age Well Center, Wednesday, January 18, 11:00 a.m. – noon. Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. Join this program to learn more about Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Studio Arts Pottery Class. West Age Well Center, Wednesday, January 18, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Participants will learn about the fundamentals of pottery to make functional and whimsical pieces.
Tea Dance. East Age Well Center, January 6 and 20, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Dance in a spacious ballroom with a fine hardwood floor to live music provided by Tom Yook, and refreshments provided by attendees. Drop-in fee of $5 per person. No partner or registration is required.
