Get Reacquainted – What’s NEW with Fitness! Thursday, Feb. 4, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. 

This Parks and Recreation program will review current onsite and online fitness classes and aquatics for older adults, and the new registration process during COVID with time for Q&A. 

Free Introduction to Brain emPower™ Tuesday, Feb. 9, 10:30 a.m. – noon

Brain emPower™ course. Tuesday, Feb. 16 – Mar. 23, 10:30 a.m. – noon

This online course is specifically designed for people living with hearing loss or concerned about cognitive decline. Exercises, meditation, diet, supplements, and relaxation techniques will blend evidence-based Western neuroscience with best-practices for stress reduction and overall well-being. 

Valentines Card Making. Thursday, Feb. 11, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Learn a folding technique in which colored strips of special paper follow a pattern creating an artistic card that can be mailed or framed. All paper materials will be mailed beforehand including envelopes for the finished cards. 

Travel Discussion Group. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Join this program for a discussion group where interested travelers can meet each other, ask questions, share helpful travel information, and inquire about destinations of interest. 

Undoing Loneliness: Cultivating Social Connection. Thursday, Feb. 18, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

This interactive class will explore how to cultivate and maintain social connections despite the continued need for physical distancing. 

How to Handle Household Hazardous Materials. Thursday, Feb. 18, 11:00 a.m. – noon

Learn what common household materials are considered hazardous, including prescription drugs, batteries, lightbulbs, and household chemicals, and what to do with them. 

What’s NEW with Collette Travel. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

Hear what this travel company is doing to keep their guests safe during trips and learn about a trip to Costa Rica offered through Older Adult Services in 2021. Enjoy this opportunity to connect with other travel-minded peers and Program Coordinator Whitney Garcia.

Shifting from Surviving to Thriving. Thursday, Feb. 25, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

It’s easy to get stuck in auto-pilot behaviors for taking the edge off of stress. This class reviews key strategies that help to better manage stress preventatively and shift from surviving to thriving. 

Photography Club Introduction. Thursday, Feb. 25, 11:00 a.m. – noon

Join others interested in this new monthly group to share photos, tips, ideas, and occasionally hear from a guest presenter. All levels and styles are welcome; any camera or smartphone cameras are welcome. Register by 4:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19.

2021 Scams and Fraud. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

This presentation reviews the newest scams and practical steps to take to keep safe from fraud, identity theft, and unwanted calls.

What is Leaky Gut? Friday, Feb. 26, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

This online seminar for older adults will review what leaky gut means, how to identify the symptoms, and provides various tips for healing this common condition.
