IN PERSON PROGRAMS

Play of the Hand Bridge Class. Wednesdays, September 8 – November 17, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Learn methods of developing tricks, eliminating losers, and planning the personal play. 

Fee: R $55/NR $69

Beginning Bridge. Thursdays, September 9 – December 2, 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

This class is an introduction to the challenging and fun game of Bridge. 

T’ai Chi Level 1 – Beginning.  Fridays, September 10 – December 10, 8:45 – 9:40 a.m.

Learn and review the basics, including breath, mental focus, postural awareness, and correct mechanics of each move. Attention is given to relaxation, mind-body connection, and the first third of the 37-posture Yang short form. Fees: R $86/NR $108

T’ai Chi Intermediate/Advanced. Fridays, September 10 – December 10, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.

The Level II Intermediate/Advanced class will review and complete the entire 37-posture Yang short form. Students must have completed Level I or have instructor approval to enroll at this level.

Studio Arts Boulder Pottery Class. Friday, September 10, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Learn the fundamentals of pottery to make functional and whimsical pieces. All materials and tools are supplied. No experience necessary.

Duplicate Bridge: Introduction & Strategies. Tuesdays, September 14 – November 23, 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Learn competitive bidding strategies where opponents are competing for the final contract.

Medical Power of Attorney and Will Clinic. Wednesday, September 22, by appointment

An Introduction to Shakespeare’s Tragedy: “Hamlet”. Wednesdays and Fridays, September 8 – October 1, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. In this series of eight online classes, review Shakespeare’s tragedy “Hamlet” by examining aspects of a play that has kept audiences and readers fascinated for over four hundred years. 

Healthy Cooking: Knife Skills and Summer Gazpacho. Thursday, September 9, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.

Celebrate the peak of tomato season with Gazpacho, a refreshing summer classic. Register by Sept. 2.

CircleTalk™. Tuesdays, September 14 – November 8, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Meet new people, have interesting conversations, share experiences, and learn about others through lightly constructed dialogues.

Collette Travel Presentation: Sunny Portugal and Southern Charm. Wednesday, September 15, 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. Join Collette Travel representative Mandy McCarthy online to learn about a trip to Portugal, and a tour of some southern U.S. locations including Charleston, Savannah, and Jekyll Island, offered through Older Adult Services in 2022.

Understanding the Balance System and Avoiding Falls. Tuesday, September 21, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

This online program outlines how to safely train the balance system to avoid falls.

Daily Progress for Falls Prevention. Wednesday, September 22, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Learn to incorporate simple exercises each day to achieve falls prevention goals including balance, endurance, strength, and getting up and down safely.
