The Legendary Ladies Present Curious Characters of the West – September 2, 2-3 p.m. – For All Ages
The Legendary Ladies return to Bemis to portray six women who questioned assumptions, pushed boundaries, and lived extraordinary lives.
Genealogical Research: Expanding Your Search – September 13, 1-2:30 p.m. – For Adults of All Ages*
Join Columbine Genealogical and Historical Society to learn about resources and practices to take your research to the next level. Archives, historical newspapers, land records, military records and immigration sources offer more details and greater depth when basic family tree searches have hit a brick wall.
The fee for this workshop includes a one-year membership in the Columbine Genealogical & Historical Society as well as workshop materials. Fee for the class is $35/individual or $45/family. Current 2023 CGHS members may attend for free. *Registration required.
Sew-Sew Craft —September 16, 2 – 3:30 p.m. —For Ages 10 and Up*
Hand sewing can be meditative and creative. Learn several simple stitches to use in visible mending, or to make a small project. *Registration required.

Pirates occupy a unique place in the popular imagination and have been an integral part of global history for centuries. From the swashbuckling privateers of the Golden Age of Piracy to the modern-day pirates plying the waters off the coast of Africa, pirates are a captivating class of criminal and antihero. Sail with us on the seven seas as Active Minds discusses the history, personalities, and tales of the pirates.
