Ballet Ariel Returns With The Nutcracker Suite
November 25, 2020 (Denver, Colorado): Ballet Ariel’s company opens its 2020-21 season with The Nutcracker Suite. Ballet Ariel’s The Nutcracker Suite is a one act performance, the perfect family getaway during this holiday season, celebrating the magical journey of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince. An array of treats from around the world come together in a delightful celebration to honor the brave Clara with chocolate from Spain, coffee from Arabia, tea from China and candy canes from Russia. Known for its beautiful and imaginative interpretation of this holiday classic, Ballet Ariel’s professional company production of The Nutcracker Suite is shorter than the full production with no intermission, yet retains the spirit of the season, incomparable choreography and the same outstanding artistry in which audiences delight.
A stellar cast, features Colorado Ballet guest artist Melissa Zoebisch as Clara and Alexandru Glusacov as the Nutcracker Prince. Special guest artist and Denver dance legend, Paul Noel Fiorino, will return, once again, as Drosselmeyer. Directed by Ilena Norton and Patricia Renzetti, The Nutcracker Suite brings joy to the holidays.
While our in-person performances have been cancelled, Ballet Ariel will be offering virtual performances, with our audiences staying safe at home. All performances will be live at the Lone Tree Arts Center, Lone Tree, Colorado.
Tickets are on sale for our virtual performances December 17th at 7:00 pm and December 18th at 1:00 and 4:00 pm. The performance link can be purchased for $20. To protect our patrons and staff, we will be following all county, state, and federal current Covid-19 guidelines. Performers will be required to wear masks.
About Ballet Ariel
Ballet Ariel was founded in 1998 by Artistic and Executive Director Ilena Norton. Now entering its second decade of performance, Ballet Ariel has evolved into a laboratory for developing original classical ballets, a collaborative environment where the beauty of classical ballet comes together with narrative storytelling and a contemporary vision. This professional company is known for its graceful and elegant, yet dynamic, choreography and staging.
Located in Denver at the Living Arts Center, 2231 S. Platte River Drive, the company employs twelve professional dancers under Rehearsal Director Oleg Dedogryuk and Ballet Mistress Patricia Renzetti. Ballet Ariel’s repertoire features original ballets such as Ballerinas by Degas, Rikki-Tikki Tavi, and Tale of Molly Brown along with classical works including The Nutcracker, La Fille Mal Gardee, and Les Sylphides.
Ballet Ariel emphasizes diversity in its company and education programs and offers an eclectic repertoire to attract broad spectrum audiences and participants. Ballet Ariel has performed at the Cleo Parker Robinson Theatre since 1998, and now performs regularly at the Lakewood Cultural Center, the Schoolhouse Theatre, the PACE Center, and the Pinnacle Events Center. Ballet Ariel has also performed throughout the Denver metro area in the SCFD summerfest series at the Arvada Center, the Cherry Hills Winter Cultural Series, the Denver Ballet Guild Showcase of Dance, the Mile High Dance Festival, the Denver Botanic Gardens SCFD series and others. Ballet Ariel has performed on tour in Leadville at the Tabor Opera House, Durango, and with Artcore in Casper, Wyoming.
