Aurora Singers Is Growing And Looking For New Members
OCTOBER 17, 2021 (AURORA, COLORADO): Aurora Singers came to life in 1977, responding to an acute need for cultural offerings for both performers and audiences within the City of Aurora. Since that time, the ensemble has grown in artistry, developing its own style that is loved by many throughout the city.
Now entering their 45th season of uninterrupted performance, including during the pandemic, the Aurora Singers are looking to expand and are auditioning new members. A true community organization, Aurora Singers welcomes adult singers of all abilities and backgrounds.
For the love of music, Aurora Singers performs for more than 2,000 local residents each year delighting audiences with lively and charming choral and music revue performances. Shows are in October, December, March and May with smaller outreach performances in between. During the season, the ensemble meets weekly on Tuesdays for rehearsals.
A seasoned and talented Artistic Director leads the ensemble with a band of professional musicians. The organization is governed by a board of directors that consists of both ensemble members and community members. As a membership organization, ensemble members pay a modest annual performance fee and costume fee.

For more than 40 years, Aurora Singers has provided the community with wholesome entertainment that people from all walks of life can enjoy. This warm and welcoming ensemble is a first-class example of community building through the arts. Aurora Singers perform for more than 2,500 local residents each year delighting audiences with lively and charming choral and music revue performances. Known for its highly entertaining and joy-filled performances, the ensemble has grown in artistry since it began in 1977. Aurora Singers now performs four large shows each year with choreography, costumes and sets. All music is memorized, and the repertoire covers a broad spectrum of genres, styles and eras. The four large shows are performed to live accompaniment with a pianist, percussionist and bass player creating an undiminished live music experience.
Serving Aurora and the greater metropolitan area, Aurora Singers is a full SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) ensemble that employs a professional Artistic Director and three accompanying musicians.
Aurora Singers has found a new home for its season performances at South Middle School in Aurora. Numerous outreach performances are performed throughout the season. Aurora Singers welcomes musicians and audiences from all segments of the community and strives to reach underserved members both as guests and as performers. Aurora Singers is inclusive of ensemble and community members with physical disabilities, always willing and able to make accommodations or provide assistance.
