2016 Aurora Veterans Salute
Registration begins August 8th for the popular Aurora Veterans Salute. The Salute will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and includes a special recognition of Vietnam Era Veterans and commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. The event is presented by the Aurora Center for Active Adults and Presenting Sponsor Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Presenting Media Sponsor KEZW Crusin AM 1430. The Master of Ceremonies is Rick Crandall, KEZW Station Manager and Morning Show Host.Ê The Veterans Salute is hosted by the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Guests are encouraged to tour the Museum, enjoy Starbucks coffee and doughnuts and visit with sponsors from 9:00-11:30 a.m. The luncheon is catered by Carrabba’s Italian Grill and served by JRAFROTC cadets. The program that follows is a thoughtful and ceremonial tribute to veterans and military families. Groups of 10 or more $20 per/person, General Admission is $22 per/person. The Peak to Peak Highway is a scenic masterpiece like few others, filled with history, sights & diversions sure to entertain even the most jaded urbanite. Join Denver History Tours for a drive of superlatives. The mission of the Aurora Commission for Seniors is to improve the quality of life for seniors in Aurora. As part of its outreach effort, the Commission is interested in hearing ideas and suggestions about needs and issues of seniors living in Aurora.
