Join Apex’s Active Adult programs either in-person or virtually to connect and stay active. Below is a small sampling of upcoming programs, but you can stay updated on all the latest offerings by visiting the website at ApexPRD.org. On the website you can also sign up for the biweekly e-newsletter, “The Rundown,” for a more complete listing of district programs. May options include Crochet and Chat, creative writing, yoga, fitness, SilverSneakers, Renew Active, line dancing, personal training, water exercise, pickleball, and much more.
National Senior Health and Fitness Day
Wednesday, May 26, 10:30 a.m.-noon
National Senior Health and Fitness Day is the nation’s largest annual health and wellness event for older adults. Join us at Stenger Sports Complex, 11200 W 58th Ave., for a socially distanced stroll around the park (about 1 mile) and a grab-and-go breakfast to follow. Gardening: Ask a Gardener
Thursday, May 11, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Join Patti as she answers all your gardening questions at Fitzmorris Recreation Center, 6340 Independence Street. Topics are decided on based on the group’s needs. Fee $20 ($24 non-res.)
Current Events Discussion
May 6 and May 20, 1:00 pm
Discuss local to international events while sharing your views and opinions in a non-judgmental environment. This group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at Secrest Recreation Center, 6820 W. 66th Ave. $4 ($5 non-res.) per time.
