Ed. Talk: Trains and Technology

Monday, January 17, 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Join the Colorado Railroad Museum as we open a wondrous case filled with train-related objects. Railroads have been at the forefront of our ever-evolving technologies using telegraphs, lanterns, mailbags, and watches to move goods and passengers. Register in advance, $8 ($10 non-res.).

Expo: There’s No Place Like Home

Wednesday, January 19, 8:45-11:45 a.m.

Learn about in-home services and products to help keep you or a loved one at home longer. Explore senior housing options in case you are considering a new place to call home. This event is free to the public but register in advance. Service providers call 303-467-7197 for vendor information and fees.

Weaving

Monday, January 24-February 14, 5-6 p.m.

Learn the basics of weaving and create a variety of wall hangings using various looms. Bring scissors, tape, a tapestry needle, and a minimum of 3 skeins of yarn. Register in advance, $34 ($41 non-res.).

Cheers to 40 Years – Apex Community Recreation Center turns 40!
The Community Recreation Center turns 40 and is celebrating with the following free activities, please register in advance.
Memory Clothesline and Cookies, Tuesday, January 25, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 pm
Stop by between 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. to enjoy cookies, coffee, and conversation. Hang a tag or photo on the memory clothesline noting your favorite activities or celebrating the friends you have made while participating here. Bring a canned item to donate to Community Table (Arvada Food Bank).
Customer Appreciation and Cupcakes, Wednesday, January 26, 10-11:30 a.m.
We could not have turned 40 without dedicated patrons and volunteers! Celebrate with cupcakes, coffee, and conversation. The Center’s scrapbooks will be available to for your viewing pleasure.
Chocolate BINGO, Friday, January 28, 1-2:30 p.m.
Prizes will be chocolate, but there will be an assortment of other prizes as well. Limited to 30 people. 

Puzzle Hustle 

Saturday, January 28, 1-2:30 p.m.

Puzzlers, get your team together and join us for the Apex Puzzle Hustle jigsaw puzzle challenge! Celebrate National Puzzle Day as teams of two to four people compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle in the shortest amount of time. This event is for ages 12+. Puzzle is provided. A limited number of teams will be accepted so register early. Prizes for first and second place. Registration fee, $35 ($40 non-res.) per team.
