Adams County Treasures’s Office Offers Free Tax Counseling Service
~ Free federal and state income tax preparation ~
The Adams County Treasurer’s Office offers free federal and state income tax preparation to individuals and families with a combined income of $51,567 or less who need help preparing their tax returns. Working with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the state of Colorado, volunteers provide basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing.
If interested in this free service, please bring the following:
- A copy of last year’s tax return
- Social security cards for yourself and your dependents
- All W-2s, 1098 and 1099 forms
- Proof of any other income received
- Any deductible expenses
- Any booklets sent to you from the Internal Revenue Service and the State of Colorado
This service is offered at five convenient locations. All sites are staffed by volunteers who have been trained and certified by the IRS:
