“A Conversation starter around Race and Allyship”
The Black Actors Guild presents: “Hype Man the Show”
From August 7th – September 13th at 7:30pm ~
The Black Actors Guild is producing a timely, hard-hitting piece of theatre called “Hype Man” (by renowned playwright Idris Goodwin) from now until September 13th, and it’s already getting rave reviews. Rated 8.5/10 by the Boulder Theatre Critic Beki Pineda, the show has been called “Heartbreaking”, “Important for everyone” and “A Conversation starter for Race and Allyship”.
The Guild is producing the show safely at “The Peoples Building” in Aurora, CO, and has a limited in-house audience with a variety of COVID-Conscious protocols. It’s safer than eating at a restaurant.
The Guild is also LIVESTREAMING the show in High Quality (1080p).
A show synopsis:
A rapper, beat-maker, and hype man start to find success making music together, but harmony is harder to find when the interracial hip-hop trio clashes over how to use their newfound platform in the wake of a police shooting. Hype Man is a rhythmically woven drama exploring race, representation, fame and friendship.
Every show includes a talkback afterwards with the cast.
