2015 Denver Senior Law Day
There are incredible resources and educational workshops available at the 2015 Denver Senior Law Day–an opportunity to hear from experienced attorneys and professionals involved in elder care issues. In addition, there are more than 50 companies exhibiting who cater specifically to senior needs. The numerous resources at the Denver Senior Law Day event isn’t just for aging adults who want to manage their personal affairs, live well and age wisely, but also invaluable for caregivers and adult children who are caring for an aging parent, relative or friend. This year there are thirty informative workshops to choose from that will help attendees learn how to better manage family and financial issues and prepare for retirement.
We are very excited this year, through the generosity of Comfort Keepers, to have as our keynote speaker Laura Wayman, the “Dementia Whisperer.” Laura will grab your attention with interesting stories, humor, and relevant details that reinforce her message of the delicate and complicated topic of dementia. Laura’s message may leave you with a full range of emotion, from tears to laughter, and allows you to comfortably relate to sometimes serious and disturbing information, but leaves you with a new sense of confidence, purpose and direction. She’ll help you understand the altered reality and perception of those experiencing the loss of normal brain function presenting as dementia. Laura is an accomplished keynote speaker, world renowned dementia expert and consultant, author, trainer, dedicated Gerontologist and Director of Dementia Care Services for select Comfort Keepers offices nationwide.
This year we’ve also added two special opportunities. Connect Hearing will be offering free hearing tests on site and CarFit will also offer a free “fitting” for participants to have their cars checked for maximum safety and comfort.
Much of the content presented at Senior Law Day also can be found in the 2015 Senior Law Handbook, which is distributed free at the event. There will also be an “Ask-A-Lawyer” segment where attendees can meet with an attorney to ask about Elder Law and Trust and Estate issues. The event is Saturday, October 17 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Denver Mart. To register or for more info go to www.denverseniorlawday.org or call 303-860-0608.
