Free Concert at the Adams County Fair in Honor of Deputy Heath Gumm

Midland, a recent Academy of Country Music (ACM) award winner, will be heading to the Adams County Fair, United Power Grandstand, 9755 Henderson Rd., Brighton, onWednesday, Aug. 1, 8 p.m., for a free concert featuring songs from their latest album, “On the Rocks.” Download your free ticket at adamscountyfair.com – four tickets per individual may be downloaded at one time.

With all the chest-thumping going on in Nashville today, where bluster and swagger have replaced heart and soul, you half expect some of country music’s male stars to be sporting bruises. Which is what makes Midland, a trio of friends based in Dripping Springs, Texas, so undeniably refreshing. Made up of singer Mark Wystrach, lead guitarist Jess Carson and bass player Cameron Duddy, Midland is the embodiment of Seventies California country, all smooth Eagles harmonies and heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics. Their songs are intoxicating, sung with the twang of George Strait.

At the concert, attendees will have a chance to Back the Blue at a remembrance ceremony in honor of fallen Adams County Deputy, Heath Gumm. Additional donations are being accepted at adcosheriffsfoundation.org.

About Adams County Fair
The Adams County Fair will be celebrating its 114th fair August 1-5 at Riverdale Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Rd., Brighton. The first official Adams County Fair was held in October 1904, but the fair and rodeo predate the formation of the county. The fair dates back to 1888, when monthly Market Days were held at the fairgrounds on the south edge of Brighton, which is the present-day site of the Brighton City Hall at 500 S. 4th Ave. Today, the fair brings together family and friends from across Adams County with live entertainment, rides and amusements, 4H competitions, food, and more.
